Walt Monegan

  3. Good luck to you and your family in weathering the political/personal attacks you will suffer. I will keep you in my prayers because I am sure you will hear a lot of insults hurled your way. Stay safe and thanks for trying to alleviate the problem of sexual assault in Alaska.

In the end this will probably end up a he said, she said fiasco, but it should not get lost on anyone how unprecedented it is to have the first major party VP nominee that runs during an active ethics investigation!

  7. Sarah Palin will be revealed in the MSM for the ambitious liar that she is. she may have been able to hide in Alaska by buying voters, but she's on the main stage now. your story is out here and we thank you for the sacrifice you and your family have made in revealing the truth.

Thank you from a fellow American.

  8. Walt,

Thank you for all of your years of public service. And thank you for cutting me some slack years ago when I was being a jerk. You were not trying to arrest anyone, just to make everyone calm down and see that we were all wrong. It takes a great diplomat to be a good cop, and I'be always believed that's what you were the whole time.

  9. Great Cop, Great Alaskan, in my book a Patriot, stay safe Walt

  10. Good Luck! It's a shame that someone who some a re trusting to be VP of U.S is getting away with ruining your life for their own political aspirations. Asd, getting support from a potential U.S president to do that. Don't stop arguing your case; not only for you and your family, but for the United States of America. I see the truth in you. Thank you for your service of protection.

  11. Thanks Mr. Monegan for all your tremendous service to the citizens of Anchorage and the State of Alaska. In particular, thanks for your efforts to fight sexual assault, in this state with the highest sexual assault rate in the nation (something Sarah Palin doesn't seem to care too much about). Best hopes for you and your family, and that you can keep your spirits up in the face of the lies and unthinking hatred of Palin supporters.

  12. Don't let the Palin smear campaign get you down. By all accounts, you served your state ad constituents well. Hopefully the Palin bubble has burst.

  13. From this Buckeye stater to you Walt, keep the faith and know that the truth will be revealed. I'm a conservative and former McCain supporter. Your firing stinks to high heaven. Hang in there.

Palin has a long history of using her power to settle scores and put cronies and sycophants in positions of leadership. I won't stand for it!

    All the best...

  14. Walt...god Bless you and your family. Meg Stapelton's message last night was despicable. This must be a very painful time for you after a long and spotless career. Stand PROUD. "Things of Quality stand the test of time...." Sarah's day will come. Karma is coming. she did this very same thing to the Mat Maid people. Her lies and lies of her hand picked board got bigger and bigger and many people ended up under the bus just like you. As Lyda Green says "It's getting crowded under the bus." the battlefield is strewn with innocent victims of her vindictiveness. We all just need to pray that she does not end up as VP. america is at risk with this kind of person at the helm. We will all be thinking of you and your family. Just know...Anchorage LOVES you!

  21. Cops are described as "the finest" for good reason. They are our finest citizens in what is a difficult lifestyle few could or would willingly take on. Buy you, Walt, are the finest of the finest. Decades of praise about you have come to my ears - and that is why you were chosen for Commissioner, and that is why the general population was 100% behind your appointment. Nothing has changed. You are still the finest of the finest. You still have our complete support. I would like to name the airport after you.

  22. Is this what Sarah and Todd Palin are teaching their children? To lie and to use political office to settle personal scores. What kind of Christians do this to other people. Walt, it is sad that you were used by Sarah Palin but just pray to God we the American people do not have to have four years of her lies and deception. Please keep her in Alaska.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mr. M
It is unfortunate you have to endure all of this, but in the end God will bring you though this.
Aa painful as this may be God wants the American people to know the awful things Palin and Co is doing in Alaska.
Hold on and don't give up.
And remember no weapon formed against you will prosper.
You have a friend in Pa

I am praying for you and yours.

  26. I wish you all the best Walter Monegan, also your wife and children. It is apparent to everyone around the World, you firing was a result of a stench of corruption and power that is still demanded to be looked into by many. I know, you know...you are not the only victim of Todd and Sarah Palin and the Republican Party, it the fear and paranoia that comes with power. She should be asked to step down as governor and I know two weeks, a month away her popularity will be in the negative. This bucket of fluff is rendered incompetent. But I do sincerely wish your family health, happiness and keep on with Obama......to receive your benefits please. He will do that without blinking.

  27. My God bless you and your family through this time in an unjust crisis.

It is unfortunate you have made Gov. Palin to endure all of this, but in the end God will bring you what you have coming for being a filthy liar.
As painful as this may be God wants the American people to know the awful things you have done by lying about Palin, and hopefully the truth will be well known of your actions and your lack of honor. You are scum.
Don't hold on and give it up liar. Your parting emails to co-workers where you explain how you were not loyal to your boss and worked behind her back say it all. You should be ashamed of yourself for casting doubt on this wonderful woman.

  29. Mr Monegan,

I have heard of your efforts on behalf of women who experience violence in their lives. Bless you and your family as you go through this difficult time. The good thoughts of the entire country are with you now that they have become aware of how shabbily you were treated while trying to discharge the responsibilities of your office to the betterment of the citizens of Alaska.

My thoughts are with you and I will keep you and your family in my daily meditations.

  33. The sins of Sarah Palin

Greed- When money or possessions become more important than God, that you would hurt other people.

Wrath (or anger) may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can manifest as vehement denial of the truth, both to others and in the form of self-denial, impatience with the procedure of law, and the desire to seek revenge outside of the workings of the justice system and generally wishing to do evil or harm to others. The transgressions borne of vengeance are among the most serious, including murder, assault, and in extreme cases, genocide. Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group.

Pride- In almost every list pride (or hubris or vanity) is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others though they may be deserving of them and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God).

Good Luck Mr. M. May God Bless you and your family. I am on your side and so are a number of people here in Colorado.

  34. Why is it Sarah Palin can claim "executive privilege" when hiding thousands of emails, some of which have been copied to private citizens, and then allow an outside political campaign to dribble out only those which paint her in a better light?

Obstruction of Justice. Plain and simple. Anyone else would go to jail for this behavior.

The duly constituted Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to investigate abuse of power. Even Sarah Palin was fine with this in July, claiming she was transparent.

How can anyone allow McCain's Washington goons to keep disrupting the process?

Horray for Walt Monegan for delivering his copies of emails to the Judiciary Committee rather than the press.

Sarah Palin should do the same. She should also quit inventing new excuses for her firing every time someone pokes holes in the last one.

    Thanks for this blog :)

  35. I am sorry your family is going through this. And you. Isn't there anything you can do to start your own investigation? Have you thought of getting your own team of PRIVATE lawyers to sue the state or whomever for harassment and be fired for the wrong reasons? I think you could, PLEASE PLEASE keep talking out and do not let the Gov of our state go without a real investigation. I am sure some of the biggest lawyers around would now take your case because of the publicity. I know it must be hard but you have been doing great so far. Please, don't let this huge McCain machine squash reality! Thank you and good luck.

  36. Good going, Walt. You have conducted yourself with grace and dignity, and you have proven yourself to be a professional. You must realize that the McCain/Palin team is only going after you to cover their own failure and to create sensationalism, because they have nothing to offer the people of this country.

You have walked the walk of truth.
In the end, that's all that matters.

  37. As a former resident of Alaska for 30 years, I am repulsed by your governor. Stand strong and keep doing the right thing. I hope that your and your family get ruined by the Palin/Republican dirty tricks.

  38. You are an honorable man. Our hearts go out to you and your family for all you are going through. What was done to you was wrong and you have my full support. Thanks for being a great Alaskan and a true American.

  39. Walt, you are obviously a true gentleman and fine public servant who has been fed to the wolves by this mealy-mouthed, two-faced politician and her gaggle of high-priced legal scum. I hope you and your family can take comfort in knowing that good people everywhere are grateful to you for standing up for the truth. If I was an Alaskan I'd vote for you.

    Best Regards,

  40. As a resident of the "lower 48' I commend you for your stance on "the truth." My prayers go out to you and your family. Continue to stand up for the truth. If "she" retaliates against you, we could use more people like you in other "just as important" states. I am appauled by how the truth is being squelched. I feel that Sarah is a traitor in God's site. One thing for sure! The truth will come out! Just hope it's not too late. If she wins, then the Republicans deserve what they're going to get. I know it won't hurt the rich ones. But the middle-class one's will be wringing their hands in utter dismay. But they won't be able to say they were not warned. I know you and your family need all of our prayers and that you have!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Walter, Your wrong.. You failed to do your job as the Governor directed. You covered the backside of Trooper Wooten in my opinion because you never gave Sarah the credit of having the guts of sending you down the road. You were offered a job and you refused so really you wernt fired you quit. Looking for a law suite as the state has deep pockets?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Have you lost your God Damn mind? I mean this Governor shit. I mean all your doing is slinging crap all over the place and hiding behaind your schield. Your showing your team spirit Walt, your not above following orders from your boss. You really don't have an education do you? A few cop courses here and there but then we all took those didn't we. With education you could have advoided this this.. You know what I mean....??

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mr Walt Monegan
I thank you for doing the right thing and not firing the trooper, (a lot of folks would have caved into the pressure) and for trying to get the whole mess investigated. To use a position of Governor, to have a man fired for the benefit of a family member is at the minimum unethical. It can be seen by viewing the time line of events the gain of such pressure may have been to make it easy in a custody battle. No job for the trooper makes it a bit one sided. I like the method you have used to get this problem at least to the legislative branch. Nothing may come of that, but the problem has been presented, and maybe
such will get some laws passed for protection from such problems. I am out of your state and can admire the limb you have gone out on here for the people of Alaska and for the protection of its people.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Walt, why did you not say anything until you decided to turn down her offer of another job?

Why are you apparently a union and trooper good-ol'-boy lackey?

    Why did Begich can you?

Why didn't you do anything about the troopers' pervasive general bad attitude problem?
It's my (and many others') experience that many, if not most, troopers have an attitude similar to Wooten's; Can get away with anything, treat people disrepectfully, selectively enforce law depending upon who you know, and....

I have asked for a reduction in ADPS money for at least a decade until the cops develop a better attitude towards those they are supposed to "protect and serve."

With the cop protect-your-own-buddy system, the broken investigate-themselves system, and so many other reasons, I would rather face a criminal than a cop.

At least with a criminal I have my pistola. With a cop, there is no protection from their lies.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Mr Monegan,

I respect the hell out of you're integrity.
Did I ever tell you that you're my hero?

  46. Mr. Monegan:

You are a well respected man in the state of Alaska and I truely believe you and stand behind you 100%. Palin has flip-flopped so many times it is amazing that anyone would belive a word she says. Stay strong

    ReplyDelete
  47. Mr. Monegan

I live in California. Since Sarah Palin was chosen as John McCain's Vic President I have researched and studied this whole legislative investigation against Sarah Palin.

I have found evidence of pressure upon you regarding Trooper Wooten. I researched Sarah Palin patterns while in office and evidence exists of multiple other similar incidents. Sarah Palin working as governor stated Trooper Wooten is a danger. Legally she can not defame another state employee with such accusations when he has never legally been proven in court as a danger during divorce trial or since. One protection order given, but not extended. Accusation were only from Palin Family. Divorce Trial judge warned Palin Family to stop vendetta against Wooten. Trooper Wooten may be a problem. But legally I fully realize you can only go so far. Trooper Wooten does have rights too. Maybe Trooper Wooten is no problem. Sarah Palin family needed to plan strategically to catch Wooten with sound legal evidence and pursue in court for decision if Wooten is a danger/problem. This is 2008 and would not difficult to do. Then Palin family could have pursued legally. Sarah Palin did not do, but instead did it secretly while working as governor, and absolutely did abuse her powers as governor by doing so. Pressure was exerted by Sarah Palin and her administration upon you regarding Trooper Wooten.

I would be fired from my medical profession position if I attempted/allowed personal issues to be used against another employee.

I have discovered the whole investigation has now become a John McCain and his top lawyers quest for a cover-up!! I am a Republican and ashamed of my party and what they are doing!! "Executive Privilege" and with holding of documents, private email accounts used for government work to avoid Public Records Act, refusal of those requested to testify are indeed examples implying cover-up exists!!

I hope the legislative investigative attorney is getting some top notch advice as well. John McCain has brought top guys in. Keep investigation going!! Truth must come out!!

I sincerely wish you the very best during this very difficult period of your life.

Many across the nation are behind you as well. News sites are writing articles. And we do see Republican claims Democrats are behind this is not true.

Be proud of your efforts to tell the truth. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  48. We all seem to be overlooking one pertinent fact....The Commissioner serves at the pleasure of the Governor. End of argument.
If as the Commissioner he was indeed feeling pressure from anyone in the Governors office or family to act in a manner contrary to his good judgement, then he should have filed a grievance through the proper channels. Only after he was relieved of his duties did he start complaining about "pressure" to take action against Wooten. That is suspect to me. Now had he brought it up prior to being terminated, that would have been a different case. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

  50. I find it STRANGE that Sarah Palin wrote a letter of recommendation for ex-brother-in-law when he applied for his job as a State Tropper.
Also read where his ex-wife--sister of Gov.Palin., was with him when he shot the moose without a license. However it said that she had a license . Also they SHARED the meat with ALL members of the Palin family. There is more to this story and that is why Gov.Palin should be questioned as to the half-truths she is spreading about this man. Yes he has his faults, but the story seems to exaggerate the facts. He has NOT had his day in court. Palin and husband should come CLEAN as to their part in this soap opera. American deserves to KNOW---NOW---BEFORE the ELECTION.
Mr Monegan should stand FIRM---NOT back down from this Woman---She has a RECORD that NEEDs to be Exposed NOW

Walt, thanks so much for your commitment to Alaskans and the truth. You will prevail.

  54. I'm sitting here in Europe and reading with total disgust the way you have been treated. I may be far away and as a Brit unable to vote but my faith is in a) the Alaskans seeing the light about this woman (can't you impeach her? ) and b) common sense winning out.

  67. It is unfortunate that you would let our state suffer the shame of the lies you have told to Alaska and the American people. It would have been one thing to lodge a complaint with your union or with the state, but to cause such pain for the people of Alaska is inexcusable.

Governor Palin did not fire you, you were reassigned and I believe Finding 2 on page 8 of your friend Branchflower's report vindicates the Governor of your allegations you were fired because you would not fire Wooten.

Your experience as a police officer and history with bush Alaska make you an excellent selection for Ex. Director of the Alcohol Beverage Control Board.

I do wish you much luck in the future, I am sure a book or something has been offered. Your service to the city of Anchorage and the State of Alaska has been greatly appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I hate to say it, but the police cover their own, and you're just another example of letting bad cops stay on the job. I'm no Sarah fan, but Walt served at her pleasure--that was the deal before he signed on. He wasn't dismissed because of the Wooten deal, though it might have had an influence, and rightfully so. I could never get away with the cr*p this cop got away with. Any normal person would be in jail with the first death threat (not to mention the rest)(especially against the state's first family?)
